Reports are that more players and support staff of the West Indies’ touring party have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the final Twenty20 International against Pakistan tomorrow at the National Stadium in Karachi.
According to sources, these members are expected to be unavailable for the match after reportedly returning positive tests.
The names of the players and officials will be withheld until Cricket West Indies makes an official announcement.
Last Saturday, CWI announced that left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell, all-rounders Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers, along with a non-coaching member of the team management unit returned positive tests in Karachi.
All four members are fully vaccinated and were without major symptoms. They are currently undergoing a period of self-isolation.
Pakistan already has an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series after winning the first two matches this week. (AGB)
