Barbados Labour Party (BLP) candidate for St John, Charles Griffith, has hit the ground running.

Speaking during a press briefing at his constituency office in Clifton Hall, Griffith said though the General Election was announced less than 24 hours earlier, he and his team were ready.

He boasted that during his tenure over the past three and a half years he was able to do more than any other St John Member of Parliament.

Griffith, who is also Minister in the Ministry of Water Resources, said the road network in various communities was improved; water issues, following the Vineyard water augmentation programme, had been alleviated; the homes of several constituents had received indoor plumbing facilities; and many householders had gained employment opportunities.

He said he wanted to repair more roads, see the establishment of a vendors’ mall at the David Thompson Health and Social Services Complex, and the rebirth of various sporting teams in St John by way of a community sports programme. (SB)
