In her first speech as re-elected Prime Minister of the country after being given another mandate, Mia Amor Mottley yesterday promised to treat Barbados with care and continue the process of transformation as the country continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Prime Minister also hinted that some new direction regarding how the country would be going forward during the pandemic would soon be forthcoming.

Mottley said areas of importance to her administration were closing the development gap, eliminating poverty from the island’s landscape and assuring people have equitable, affordable access to health care.

Moments after being sworn in for a second time as Prime Minister, Mottley also said she would spend this weekend fine-tuning a new Cabinet. (BA)
