All to play for after England level T20 series

All-rounder Mooen Ali hit a brilliant half-century as England defeated the West Indies by 34 runs tonight at Kensington Oval to level the Twenty20 International series 2-2 ahead of tomorrow’s final match.

Ali hit 63 runs off 28 balls, including seven sixes and one boundary, before he was caught by Romario Shepherd at long-on.

Earlier, opener Jason Roy (52) also produced a half-century, while James Vince scored 34 as England posted 193-6 in 20 overs.

Jason Holder had figures of 3-44, capturing the important wicket of Ali who received a standing ovation from the crowd after being dismissed.

In reply, Kyle Mayers, playing on his home ground for the first time as a West Indies player hit 40 off 23 balls, while Holder scored 36.

When the latter was out going for another big hit – he struck three sixes and two fours – the West Indies’ task became that much harder and time ran out, the score at 159-5.
