Police recovered a firearm and held a man for questioning earlier tonight following an incident at a place of entertainment in Holetown, St James.

Public relations officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, told Nation News the man, whose identity has not been revealed, was being searched by security in order to enter the business.

During the search, security discovered the firearm at the man’s waist, but to prevent apprehension, he pushed away the security person and ran.

However, police were at the business on another matter and gave chase. A shot was fired, but the man was held and the firearm recovered.

The section of the road near Limegrove and St James Primary School was cordoned off. Investigations are continuing.
