A former legal secretary in attorney Norman Leroy Lynch’s office said the accused was not in office for “quite a while” but she did not know why.

In addition, Cheryl Small denied she signed as receiving a cheque on behalf of Lynch.

“The last time I saw him was in July 2007,” she told the No. 2 Supreme Court when cross-examined. “He wasn’t in the office on a daily basis. Around October I didn’t see him much at all and I left in November 2007.”

The witness said no one else had conduct of Lynch’s affairs and she had nothing to do with the depositing of cheques at the bank. She added she knew nothing about the clients’ account and the money in it.

“Everything waited on Mr Lynch to come in,” she said, adding his wife would come in “on several occasions for the cheque book”. (HLE)
