Ervine reaches 100 through faith in God

It was a birthday celebration like none before for Ervine Estelle Peterkin yesterday.

On the day she became this country’s latest centenarian, Peterkin got a special birthday card and bouquet from President The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason.

If that wasn’t enough, her family then threw her a party for reaching triple figures.

“My grandmother would always say, ‘Everything is fair for now and in God’s hands’,” Jennifer Yearwood told the Sunday Sun.

She said her grandmother had always been a positive role model and a strong woman who worked hard throughout her life. Cou-Cou remains her favourite meal.
