One dead, two injured in City shooting

One man is dead and two others are being treated for injuries in the wake of a shooting incident at Baxter’s Road, The City.

The deceased, whose name has not yet been released, is 25 years old. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after being transported by ambulance.

A 39-year-old male received injuries about his body and a 22-year-old man was reportedly grazed to his left leg.

Police public relations officer, acting inspector Rodney Inniss, said they received the call around 12:02 p.m. on Saturday that a number of gunshots were heard in the area near Jordan’s supermarket and two people were injured.

They responded to the scene, and on arrival, investigations confirmed that three people had received various injuries. The area has been cordoned off as investigations continue. (PR/SAT)
