COVID-19 Update for April 26

There were 473 new COVID-19 cases, 192 males and 281 females, recorded from the 1 434 tests carried out on Tuesday, April 26, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consisted of 112 people under the age of 18, and 361 who were 18 years and older.

There were 95 people in isolation facilities, while 3 343 were in home isolation.

As at April 26, a total of 390 COVID-19 related deaths were recorded.

The public health laboratory has conducted 645 480 tests since February 2020, and recorded 68 913 COVID-19 cases (31 668 males and 37 245 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 161 680 (70.8 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 151 868 (56 per cent of the total population or 66.5 per cent of the eligible population) or those persons who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
