324 new virus cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 324 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 148 males and 176 females, from the 1 080 tests conducted on Sunday, May 15.

The cases comprised 105 people under the age of 18, and 219 who were 18 years and older.

There were 101 people in isolation facilities, while 4 868 were in home isolation.

An 82-year-old American male passed away as a result of COVID-19 on Sunday.

As at May 15, there were 434 deaths related to COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has conducted 671 718 tests since February 2020, an  recorded 76 895 COVID-19 cases (35191 males and 41 704 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 058 (71 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 152 379 (56.2 per cent of the total population or 66.7 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
