Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has made the Time 100 list of the most influential people.

Mottley has spent the past few years since becoming the first female Prime Minister of Barbados lobbying for better trade and financial relationships and conditions for Barbados, the Caribbean and small island developing states.

She has voiced her concerns about the effects of climate change on small island developing states and was well recognised by global leaders and influencers at the COP 26 conference last year, where she chided bigger countries with regard to climate change.

Among Mottley’s milestones are the transition of Barbados to Republican status, last year.

Additionally, Mottley led the Barbados Labour Party to two historic consecutive 30-0 victories in General Elections in Barbados.

Mottley also co-chairs the Global Leaders Group on Antimicrobial resistance.
