Barbados recorded 192 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) – 84 males and 108 females – on Tuesday, May 31. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted a total of 767 tests.

Of this number, there were 50 people under the age of 18, and 142 people 18 years and older.

There are now 43 people in isolation facilities and 1 605 in home isolation. No deaths were reported yesterday, however, reports from the Coroner’s Office, showed that there were 11 deaths related to COVID-19 which occurred in the community, over the past three weeks.

The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 is now 461. To date, the public health laboratory has carried out 687 550 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80 846 cases (36 912 males and 43 934 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 400 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 152 825 (56.4 per cent of the total population, or 66.9 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
