Police investigating early morning fire

Police are currently investigating the cause of a fire that happened about 5 a.m. on Thursday at Sanjay’s Minimart in Belmont Road, St Michael.

The building was extensively damaged, and three fire tenders and 12 fire officers attended the scene.

Traffic near the building was reduced to one lane, and the travelling public has been advised to avoid the area at this time.

Police officers are, however, currently in the area assisting with the regulation of vehicular traffic.
