BDF, Coast Guard to conduct gunnery exercise

The Barbados Coast Guard and Barbados Defence Force will conduct a gunnery exercise, tomorrow, in the area west of the Arawak Cement Plant jetty in St Lucy.

A brief statement issued by Barbados Government Information Service today said the exercise will take place between coordinates 13° 16′ North 059° 43.25′ West and 13° 18′ North 059° 43.05′ West to 13° 16′ North 059° 44.38′ West and 13° 18′ North 059° 44.38′ West.

Operators of all marine craft are advised to keep well clear of the area, maintaining a distance of not less than 12 nautical miles from the exercise area.

The statement said they must also keep clear of its northern, southern and western limiting lines. All mariners are also asked to take extreme care and caution while operating on the west and northern west coasts. (BGIS)
