COVID-19 Update for June 22

One hundred and forty-eight people, 71 males and 77 females, tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, June 22, from the 654 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 26 people under the age of 18, and 122 who were 18 years and older.

There were 23 people in isolation facilities, while 858 were in home isolation.

As at June 22, there were 472 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 699 845 tests since February 2020, and recorded 83 390 COVID-19 cases (38 012 males and 45 378 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 499 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population. The number of fully vaccinated is 153 352 (56.6 per cent of the total population or 67.1 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those ho are 12 years and older.
