COVID-19 Update for June 24

A total of 139 people, 98 males and 41 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 1 251 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, June 24.

The cases comprised 18 people under the age of 18, and 121 who were 18 years and older. There were 26 people in isolation facilities, while 1 040 were in home isolation.

The number of deaths from the viral illness now stands at 473.

The public health laboratory has conducted 701 833 tests since February 2020 and recorded 83 663 COVID-19 cases (38 190 males and 45 473 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 555 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of people who are fully vaccinated is 153 429 (56.6 per cent of the total population or 67.2 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
