The lingering Crop Over celebration continued on Thursday night at the Horny Ram in St James.

Tru FunkShun Band, the in-house entertainment, was joined by other performers for an evening of music that thrilled the packed location.

Entertainer Michael Thompson of Spar1 Music Management, the organiser of the event, said the aim was to bring together other bands associated with the hotel scene and nightclubs.

He said that as countries open up and live bands return, Barbados must be at the forefront and Thursday night’s band fusion was just a taste.

He was joined by Imani of the band Phoenix Rising and Everdene of the band Green Spice in a 45-minute music feast for those on hand.

Thompson said that from his interaction with tourists during his hotel gigs, they were longing for the local music and that was what he aimed to provide.

In addition, there was a market for the back-in-time music which was attracting a younger crowd, leading to the band playing that decade of music on the first and third Saturdays at Amigos, said Thompson.

That night, a special guest is also part of the line-up. (AC)
