West Indies announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup on Wednesday with Andre Russell, compatriot Fabian Allen, leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr, and Barbadian batsman Shamarh Brook among the notable absentees.

Uncapped pair of Barbadian left-handed all-rounder Raymon Reifer and Trinidadian leg-spinning all-rounder Yannic Cariah were, however, included in the squad for the global showpiece from October 16 to November 13 in Australia.

Significantly, attacking Trinidadian left-handed opener Evin Lewis, who had not featured since last year’s T20 World Cup, was recalled.

St Lucian opener Johnson Charles, who last played in the 2016 T20 World Cup, but is among the top run-scorers in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) also earned a recall.

Jamaican left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell is also in the Nicholas Pooran-led squad.
