Peirce new champion trainer

For the second year in succession, the trainer’s title at the Garrison Savannah has changed hands.

Robert “Papa” Peirce, in an amazing come-from-behind effort, snatched the 2022 trainer’s championship in a titanic finish on the Diamonds Internationals Crown Of Light Boxing Day At The Races card at the Garrison Savannah.

He defeated the main contenders Kenny John and dethroned champion Andrew “Busha” Nunes.

Peirce sent 192 runners to post with 18 wins and earnings of $368 362 giving him a win per cent of nine. John, with 22 wins grabbed the second position having earned $367 264 at a win per cent of 22. He sent 100 horses down to the starter.

Nunes took the third place with the most wins for the year 23 from 124 starters who earned him $357 932 at 13.5 win per cent.  (LY)
