No fireworks at Botanical Gardens

The year got off to a disappointing start for hundreds last night when they turned up at the National Botanical Gardens expecting fireworks.

The slated show, which was advertised with a fireworks section, had apparently been cancelled, but not many knew as word spread slowly.

Many Barbadians who opted for the Gardens as an ideal location only realised at the 11th hour there would be no lighting up of the night skies. By then it was too late to find another fireworks location and they had to forego seeing any spectacular display of pyrotechnics. (AC)
