Catholics urged to deepen faith

Make a plan for 2023 and commit to deepening your faith.

That is the advice from Roman Catholic Bishop Neil Scantlebury as he delivered the homily on Old Year’s Night at St Patrick’s Cathedral on Jemmotts Lane, St Michael.

“We continue to journey into 2023. If we want a change, if we want it to be different from 2022, then we must have a game plan. What is your game plan? If you don’t have a game plan, don’t expect anything different than what you’ve been getting in 2022. When you get it in 2023, do not grumble about it because you and I have not made a plan for a change for the better,” the bishop said.

“We must have that plan. Spend more time in prayer, praying the rosary, reading the Word of God, the Bible In A Year, the Catechism In A Year. Let us work on being more hospitable, let us work on forgiving others, let us go to confession more often, let us forget the online Mass and let us come to church together and pray together.” (Nation News)
