UPDATE: Shooting death at Atlantic Shores

The man who was shot and killed during a home invasion at Coral Drive, Atlantic Shores, Christ Church on Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Dwayne Obrien Hall.

Police from the Oistins station responded to the area after receiving an urgent call for assistance around 1:30 p.m.

Hall, 40, was discovered in the home with an injury to his chest. Ambulance personnel were summoned, and on their arrival and examination, found no sign of life. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.

Police public affairs and communications officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss, said from preliminary investigations, two men invaded the home

“It was reported as an attempted robbery where two assailants, one armed with a firearm, descended on the property, assaulted two persons who were there and there was an altercation where one person [at the house] was shot. They then made their escape on foot,” he said.

The second person was not injured.
