Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly Neil Rowe reappeared in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court this morning with new counsel.

The 43-year-old of Kingsland Terrace, Christ Church, has been charged with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a female without her consent, or was reckless as to whether she consented, on September 18, 2022.

When he appeared before Magistrate Deidre McKenna last October, Rowe was represented by King’s Counsel Roger Forde. However, when he entered the Oistins Magistrate’s Court today, King’s Counsel Ralph Thorne and Michael Lashley (KC) in association with Emerald Griffith, Sade Harris and Zudie Payne, entered an appearance for Rowe.

Additionally, King’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim held a watching brief for the virtual complainant.

Rowe, who was not required to plead to the indictable charges on his previous appearance, continues on $10 000 bail.

He will reappear in court on March 20. (RA)
