At least he could have said sorry to a family who trusted him.

So declared Hortensia Ward about convicted attorney Norman Leroy Lynch as she read a victim impact statement to the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday.

“My family trusted Mr Lynch to deal with us fairly and honestly. It hurts just thinking of the entire process from June 2007, when we know Mr Lynch’s office received the money, until today,” the retiree said.

“What is even more distressing, in my opinion, is that Mr Lynch showed no signs of remorse during the court case or the entire trial. I truly hope that Mr Lynch would recognise he did us wrong by using our money to finance his lavish lifestyle and at least he could feel sorry for the family who trusted him and who he took advantage of,” she told the court.

“We are very hurt and we are disappointed Mr Lynch showed no signs of remorse throughout the entire trial, knowing he had dealt with us dishonestly and unfairly.”

Lynch, 73, of Grassfield Gap, Martindales Road, St Michael, was found guilty of engaging in money laundering, in that he directly engaged in transactions totalling $457 634 being the proceeds of crime, between June 22, 2007 and December 21, 2008. (HLE)
