Excavation has started on phase one of the White Hill Rehabilitation Project.

Member of Parliament Dr Romel Springer said the new road would curve around and eventually link with the St Andrew village.

“They started de-bushing on March 14 and now the road is into phase one where the initial new build will be placed. Then they will use the finished hard surface to drive the tractors and what have you into phase two, where they will do a lot of cutting and filling,” he explained.

“Phase two will take you down the incline, which has to be buttressed with gabions on both sides, and join back with the existing road. Phase three is where we repair the existing road down Baxter’s Hill,” he said.

The work is bring executed in collaboration with the China National Complete Plant Import & Export Corporation Ltd (COMPLANT). (Nation News)
