Teen wrestler wins gold

Teenage wrestling sensation Rebecca Williams won gold for Barbados at the 2023 United States of America National Beach Wrestling Championship at Carolina Beach, North Carolina over the weekend.

Williams, age 15, was nothing short of outstanding against some of the world’s best in what was her first time not only competing at this event but also her maiden international beach wrestling competition.

A student of the Combermere School, Williams was impressive when she fought against three females who were from New Jersey, North Carolina and New York while describing it as a wonderful and interesting experience.

“This victory has really boosted my confidence level because at first, the nerves got the better of me but once I put my mind to it I can achieve it,” Williams told NATION SPORT. (ML)
