Three COVID deaths and 434 new cases

Barbados recorded a jump in COVID-19 cases from May 27 to June 9.

According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health, there were 434 new cases and three deaths compared to 252 and zero deaths from May 13 to 26.

Eleven people were in hospital, down from 15 over the previous period.

There have been 596 deaths.

Overall, the island has recorded 108 046 COVID-19 cases comprising 48 895 men and 59 585 women.

The vaccination rate remains unchanged. Up to June 9, about 60.5 per cent or 163 846 people have at least one dose, while 57.2 per cent or 155 036 are fully vaccinated. (PR/SAT)
