West Indies bowled out for 114
India need 115 in 50 overs to win the first One-Day International (ODI) against the West Indies cricket team which was rolled over for 114 in 23 overs before midday in the first-innings at Kensington Oval.
The total is the lowest ever ODI score by the West Indies at the Oval and third lowest score ever.
Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the hero for the visitors, taking four wickets for six runs in three overs.
Three of his victims, Shai Hope, Dominic Drakes and Yannic Cariah fell leg before wicket, as the frail batting lineup found it difficult to pick his deliveries.
Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja prised three for 37 in six overs as West Indies skipper Hope offered the only notable batting resistance, scoring 43 from 45 deliveries.
His Indian counterpart Rohit Sharma won the toss and sent the hosts in to bat on an unpredictable pitch, which had grass.
Some deliveries kept low, while spinners Yadav and Jadeja extracted serious turn from the surface. (RW)
