Fire on Fairchild Street

There is a fire on Fairchild Street, St Michael, opposite Golden Square Freedom Park.

The Barbados Fire Service and a crew from the National Petroleum Corporation are on the scene. A car was also burnt in the blaze and the road has been cordoned off.

Police are directing traffic.

An eyewitness said there was an explosion from a manhole in the road before the fire broke out.
