International awards for Crime Stoppers

CRIME STOPPERS BARBADOS has so far won four international awards as a result of its work.
The awards were given in August during the 2010 Crime Stoppers International (CSI) Training Conference in Halifax, Canada.
Crime Stoppers Barbados was launched in February last year and as such is one of the newest members of CSI. The organisation received the Productivity Award for the greatest increase in total property recovered and three media awards – Best Print Public Service Announcement; Best Print Special Report/Feature (with the Barbados Advocate) and Best Radio Public Service Announcement (with Starcom Network) in the category of population size 250 000 – 400 000.
Thus far, Crime Stoppers Barbados has received 507 tips, resulting in 43 people being arrested and 45 cases cleared.
