Chief Executive Officer of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), Donna Hunte-Cox is ready to accept help anyway she can get it.And that includes Barbadians who live overseas, and are in a position to bring fresh, innovative ideas, as well as investment, to improve Barbados’ cultural and arts sector.Hunte-Cox made the call yesterday before a packed auditorium at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on the second and final day of the Barbados National Consultation, the inaugural Diaspora Conference.Dealing primarily with the human resource sector as it relates to the cultural industry, Hunte-Cox said the NCF would accept all comers who have the requisite skills to aid the Foundation’s development. She said that cultural development was an integral part of national development and would form a major part of national policy, and so Barbadians who live in the Diaspora should be anxious to assist. Regarding Barbadians who are willing to help, Hunte-Cox said it was time they started thinking outside the box, and eventually areas where they could assist would start to appear. The NCF head noted that people with business skills would come highly recommended, since that was an area of immense importance.
