Mara Thompson, the widow of the late Prime Minister David Thompson, along with representatives of Parish Independence Committee of St. John unveiled a sign today at the entrance to the St John’s Parish Church where the well-loved leader was laid to rest earlier this month.
Mara was joined by Parish Ambassadors, Jelissa Maughan and Dario Lovell as well as Attendant, Linda Griffith, other committee members and the Assistant Curate of the Church, Reverend Desmond Ward in unveiling the sign which is the first of ten that will depict the theme for the St. John parish independence committee, ‘Embracing our Heritage to preserve it for the future”.
The Unique 10 is part of the ambassadors’ project which they will present at the Spirit of the Nation Gala on Saturday night at the Wildey Gym in an attempt to hold off the other ten parishes to claim the top prizes for St. John once again.Â
 Griffith said signs will also be erected at the New Castle Children Home, Yarico Pond, Codrington Estate, The Lodge School and Society Primary School.Â
