CASTRIES, St Lucia – The annual Jazz Festival opens here on Saturday with the organisers saying that for the nine-day event will feature the biggest number of local acts alongside internationally renowned acts like Grammy winner John Legend.
Director of the St. Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) Louis Lewis said that despite constant innovation, top rated performers and significant improvements in the event over the past 20 years, the aim is to keep the prices affordable so as to encourage widespread participation.
“This deliberate policy coupled with Early Bird Specials and other discount packages, have allowed as many patrons as possible to participate in the experience of St. Lucia Jazz.
“The festival has received significant exposure in the international media and so we are anticipating a good turnout this year.”
Apart from Legend, other performers include R&B sensation Trey Songz, Chuck Brown, Regina Carter, Maceo Parker, Carimi and Morgan Heritage. (CMC)
