How would you define your personal style?
I am all about originality and creativity, I’m not one to run out and get what’s “in” and what’s trendy.
Do you find that you follow fashion trends or do you play by your own rules?
I definitely play by my own rules. I may wear a top backwards because I like the detail on the back or wear a skirt on my waist with a belt, rather than on my hips to give it a different look.
Has your fashion sense changed over the years or has it remained the same?
It’s a bit of both. It remains the same as I still wear whatever I feel to, as I am not one to really follow trends. It has changed in the sense that some outfits I have worn in the past I probably wouldn’t wear now.
As a child were you always into clothes of did you grow into your fashion sense?
I have always been into clothes/fashion. My choices were limited then so I would always look for ways to wear an article of clothing as many different ways as possible. I think this is when I started to develop my creative fashion side.
Are there any colours that you tend to shy away from and if so why?
I stay away from anything that’s too close to my complexion, but then again I just find a way to make it work (accessories, makeup or blazer)! So I guess I am open to practically any colour.
How does your day-to-day life factor into your wardrobe choices?
I try to wear what best suits the occasion or choose an outfit depending on what I will be doing that particular day, with a bit of edge of course!
Are there any designers locally that you like or whose clothing stands out with you?
I love to see Cassandra Mottley’s swimwear. Its always a breath of fresh air, and of course my line, where it’s all about comfortable, flirty clothing. In terms of international designers, I think each designer has their own unique quality that makes their line stand out from others but I particularly love to see an Elie Saab gown on the red carpet. They are just stunning!
