Sweet summer start to festival

The Sweetest Summer Festival got off to a spectacular start today, with the BNB Crop Over Opening Gala and Ceremonial Delivery of the Last Canes in Queen’s Park.
Festivities got under way with a parade from the General Post Office in Cheapside, through Broad Street, St Michael’s Rowe and into the park.
There will be a number of activities which cater to the various tastes for the next four weeks before the festival climaxes on August 1 with Grand Kadooment.99.
These dancers made their way through Broad Street in the City.
