ARNON?DYAL, the man at the centre of the industrial dispute at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, has been returned to the post of acting director of news and current affairs at the television station, with immediate effect.
Sir Roy Trotman, general secretary of the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) issued a statement yesterday evening after a two-hour meeting with management at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), announcing that the dispute between the BWU and CBC over the supersession of Dyal had been resolved.
Staff of the corporation staged a work stoppage on Monday morning after they found out that Dyal had been removed from the position, which he took up in September, and replaced by Michelle Arthur, his junior and news editor-in-charge of assignments.
The release stated that CBC “has acknowledged that there was no basis for the cessation of Mr Dyal’s acting appointment and decided today to re-establish him to the post”. (MB)
