GOVERNMENT AND HILTON INTERNATIONAL ARE ON A COLLISION COURSE over the way the local hotel is being run.
And the disagreements have become so intense that the two sides have brought in their lawyers to help settle at least one of the troubling issues.
The state of affairs was outlined in the just released 2011 annual financial report of Needham’s Point Holdings Limited (NPHL) – the Government entity that owns the Hilton Barbados property. The report was laid in Parliament a week ago.
In its review of operations, the board of directors of NPHL slammed Hilton International for not adhering to the established practice here of recognizing the “winter (high) season” from December 15 to April 13.
