St Joseph without water again

LOW WATER LEVELS at two pumping stations and a ruptured nine-inch main have yet again deprived St Joseph residents of running water.
And the news does not get any better as Barbados Water Authority (BWA) officials predict the issues will continue for the next few nights.
In a telephone interview yesterday the BWA’s communications specialist Joy-Ann Haigh explained what was happening.
“We had pumping station issues at Golden Ridge, St George, and Bowmanston, St Joseph, where the levels of water had dropped [below proper pumping levels] and we had to [supply] the reservoirs which fed them.
“As a result, we will be shutting down the system at night until the levels have returned to normalcy. This is expected to lasta couple of [nights] and the public will be notified when everything is back to normal,” she said.
