House inspections, fogging next week

With dengue fever cases on the rise and efforts to deal with mosquito control, health officials will be out in the field this weekend.
Environmental health officers and assistants from the Vector Control Unit will be continuing their weekend house-to-house inspections as well as a survey on mosquito control and dengue fever on Saturday from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The inspections and survey will be conducted at a number of St Michael locations including Mahaica Gap, Lewis Gap, Storey Gap, Bow Road, Butlers Avenue, Paradise Gap, Chapel Gap, Syndicate Road, Stuart Road, Pioneer Road, Review Road, Bush Hall Yard Gap, Alleyne’s Land Nos. 1 to 3, Review Road, Accommodation Road and surrounding areas.
All officers will be wearing identification badges.
Six parishes will also be fogged by the Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Unit next week as part of its ongoing fogging programme.
On Monday members of the Unit will visit the following districts in St Joseph, St John and St George: Joes River, Bowling Alley, Vaughan Road, Surinam Road, Bonwell Road, Towerville Road, Orange Grove, Blackmans, Horse Hill, Redland Tenantry, Sweetvale, Groves, Golden Ridge, Lemon Arbor, Four Roads and surrounding areas.
The team will target districts in St James and St Peter on Tuesday when they go into St Silas Heights, Waterhall, Waterhall Terrace, Rock Dundo with Avenues, Park Close, Bakers Avenue, Bridge Avenue, Bakers Woods and the environs.
Members of the Unit will concentrate their efforts in St Michael on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
On Wednesday, they will turn their attention to areas such as Bank Hall Cross Road, Barracks Road, Buckingham Road, Sealy Land, Hindsbury Road, Station Hill, Mansion Road, Savannah Road, Park Road, Waterford Road, Bush Hall Road and neighbouring districts.
The following day the team will fog the following areas: Long Gap, Piedmont Park, Rogers Terrace, Pillersdorf Development, Grazettes Gardens, Rockhampton Road, Denton Road, Grazettes Court, Grazettes, Derriston Road, Rock Gap, Woodstock Road, Spooners Hill and the environs.
Fogging operations will conclude for the week on Friday, when the Unit visits
Belleville Avenues 1 to 11, Pine Road, Belmont Road, Quakers Road, Murrell Road, Alkins Road, Chadderton Road, Norham Road, Tweedside Road, Arthur Land, Halls Road and surrounding districts.
The Ministry of Health’s fogging programme runs from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. each day. Persons with respiratory ailments are reminded that they should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while children should desist from running behind the fogging vehicle.
