ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A primary school principal, accused of hitting a parent, is now before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s court on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.

Principal Etta Holness on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to the charge against her.

The court was told that an altercation developed between the two on October 7 after the complainant went onto the school compound.

Holness reportedly left the compound and on returning had “said certain things” to the complainant. Allegations are that Holness spat at the complainant and hit her across the right side of her face.

But Holness indicated to the court that it was she who was attacked by the complainant and that there should be a file at the school concerning the behaviour of the complainant.

A November 25 mention date was fixed for the file to be located. (Jamaica Observer)
