DEEMED to have abandoned his appointment, the controversial “barefoot preacher”, Rev. William “Bill” St Clair, is no longer associated with the South Caribbean District of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas.
And he has been given until December 20 to vacate the Ebenezer manse (church house) where he, wife Molly and his three children have been living for the past year.
St Clair confirmed to the SUNDAY SUN yesterday that he received a letter on November 19 from president and general superintendent of the Methodist Church in Barbados, Rev. Cuthbert Edwards, informing him that as a result of not taking up the appointment at the St James Street-Speightstown circuit he had effectively removed himself from the Methodist Church.
The letter stated: “In a letter dated 15th October 2014 you were transferred from the Ebenezer Circuit to the James Street-Speightstown Circuit and to date you have not accepted or taken up the appointment.
