Ranking Husbands as top class

IN THE WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS, athletes reach vastly different levels of achievement. Some are classified as just average, some as good and some as great. Many of those considered as great, ply their trade in extremely competitive sports.

These men and women, who provide loads of entertainment for the public, are then the subjects of public scrutiny, where everyone becomes judges and jury of all their performances, be it in their sporting lives or outside, regardless of the respective discipline.

In the sport of kings the debate as to where top Barbadian jockey Patrick Husbands sits on the list of top jockeys on the world stage has created quite a stir among racing enthusiasts; be it on the Garrison Savannah, at the country’s various horse racing betting establishments, at home or when it comes to formal recognition of national awards as was the case at the recently held National Sport Council awards ceremony.

This never ending debate centred around whether or not Husbands had excelled to the point to be rated world class. My answer to that question is a resounding yes.
