SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN from across the island were honoured on Saturday for their indomitable spirit.

Kayla and Kevon Greenidge came out with the top Indomitable Spirit Awards at a ceremony at the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation’s conference room, Harbour Industrial Park, St Michael.

Parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Education, Senator Harry Husbands, said that while the awardees were not top performers in academics or athletics, their will to succeed and determination never to give up was more than worthy of recognition.

“The ministry is interested in the development of all students and hopes that these awards will serve to encourage students to aim high, to persevere in the face of diversity and to never give up even when life seems to be filled with challenges,” he said. (CA)
