THE STRIKE by Sanitation Service Authority workers continues but some of Bridgetown’s streets are clean today.

On Saturday night, Minister of the Environment Dr Denis Lowe made good on his promise to rope in workers and equipment from other Government departments to get a handle on the growing piles of garbage in The City.

And he was on hand to watch as heavy-duty equipment and employees on loan from the Ministry of Transport and Works and the Drainage Division were used to rid Cheapside of the garbage accumulated over the past week as well as a busy Saturday morning vending trade. (HLE)
