Pedro puts Wanderers in winning position

All-rounder Gary Pedro produced a splendid performance with both bat and ball yesterday to place CounterPoint Wanderers on the cusp a marvellous come-from-behind win over Barbados Community College (BCC) in the final of the Barbados Cricket Association’s Division 2 competition.

Pedro, bowling slow off-breaks, combined with swing bowler Ishmael Dhanraj and fellow slow bowler Gavin Beresford to mow down BCC, who resumed their second innings on day two on five runs for two wickets, in 37.4 overs for 91 at KMV Oval.

The veteran right-handed opening batsman returned to anchor last year’s champions to 110 for one in pursuit of a winning target of 132 with an unbeaten 42.
