FLYING FISH AND COU COU: Staff not moonstruck

SOME WORKERS at a certain workplace are very unhappy with the way they are being treated by the boss.

According to them, the latest incident involves the boss now resorting to threatening messages by way of a phone text or Whatsapp message.

What is so distressing about the boss’ actions is that he appears to be humane and reasonable when he is wearing his other hat in public life.

But that seems to be only a camouflage since his employees have also been complaining that he has made it clear they will not be paid any special wages for working on bank holidays, even Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.

Recently, the boss fired one of the workers for enquiring about special pay for working on Christmas Day.

The boss has told them bluntly that they will abide by his rules or be terminated, politics or no politics, north or south.

One worker commented that their boss behaved as though they were from the moon.

Money under the table

It’s a reminder of one of Red Plastic Bag’s calypso hits, Bag Of Riddles.

But Cou Cou has been reliably informed about a high-ranking individual who is taking money in exchange for favours. And according to our sources, it’s no small change at all. Reports indicate it could start somewhere in the vicinity of $20 000 and up and in some cases about $40 000.

Our sources also say that the individual has said there’s no need for a “middle person” – come direct with the funds.

Apparently this individual is known to have made some large chunks of money from previous deals and is believed to have over a million dollars on a bank account as a result.

We can’t call any names, and can only take a leaf out of RPB’s repertoire and ask, “Tell me who or what am I?”

Bees drowsy

These days, the bees in the hive seem to be very unproductive.

The worker bees are behaving as though they are on a go-slow and as a result their collection of pollen is at an all-time low.

And according to reports from inside the hive, the queen bee is not as active as before and even the drones seem to be weary and not carrying out their duties.

There’s even talk about a coup and certain bees have been singled out as the ones more likely to leave the hive and search elsewhere for honey.

However, the queen bee has sent out a warning signal that any worker bee could be kicked out the hive if they are part of any plot.

Scandal brewing

Word on the ground is that there may be a repeat of an issue which sparked immense controversy this time a year ago.

Nobody is speaking on the issue in public but sources indicate that another court order could soon be pending for a politico who came under a lot of fire for the manner in which the issue was handled.

There has also been a lot of talk that there are others who might also be in for quite a surprise by some legal action as well.

We will keep you posted.
