Lynch predicts 2 medals

LOOKS LIKE Noel Lynch has gone from VP to gypsy.

The Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) vice president is back in his crystal ball making more big prophecies, having boldly predicted the country will bring back two or quite possibly three medals from this year’s Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

Lynch specifically identified sprint hurdler Shane Brathwaite and multi-eventer Akela Jones as medal contenders while having similarly high hopes for the men’s 4×100 metres relay team.

“I think from their performances to date, the competition they are likely to face and the type of personnel we have surrounding them that they will medal as I am definitely looking for them to make the finals,” said the long-serving AAB executive member at the body’s awards gala Friday night.
