Fraud-accused return to court

MELISSA LATOYA CUMBERBATCH was granted bail to the tune of $15 000 when she appeared in District A Criminal Court No. 1 today.

Cumberbatch, who is five months pregnant, is one of four people accused of almost $75 000 in credit card fraud.

Co-accused Michael Akinwale Akingbade, Joseph Adedapo King, and Mukhtar Mohamed Muctar Abbasheikh were remanded to HMP Dodds until May 3. melissa-cumberbatch-2

Prosecutors objected to bail for the trio when they appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick.

The four are scheduled to reappear at Holetown Magistrates Court on Tuesday and at the Eric Holder Complex, Horse Hill, St Joseph, on Wednesday. (BN)
