THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION is looking for alternative accommodations for students and teachers at the Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School, who continue to suffer ill effects from an ongoing environmental issue.
And Acting Minister of Education, Senator Harry Husbands, told the SATURDAY SUN yesterday the school will be closed again on Monday in order to get the logistics sorted.
The school was previously closed in November last year for two days to allow for industrial cleaning.
Husbands visited the Spooners Hill, St Michael School, which was forced to close around lunchtime because the majority of the 30-plus teachers had reported ill yesterday.
Even before the official word was given by the ministry, parents and guardians were heading to the school to collect their charges.
