BRIDGETOWN – Guyana Jaguars, set 405 for victory by Barbados Pride were struggling on 197 for five in 81 overs at tea on the final day of their seventh round regional Professional Cricket League match at Kensington Oval here Monday.
The not out batsmen are wicket-keeper Anthony Bramble on eight and all-rounder Raymon Reifer, who is yet to score. Tall off-spinner Roston Chase has taken four of the five wickets to fall for 55 runs in 24 overs.
Resuming from 130 for two at lunch, Guyana lost the key wicket of captain Leon Johnson, who fell for exactly 50 off 92 balls in 110 minutes when he was brilliantly caught by Shai Hope off the bowling of leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr. Johnson hit three sixes and three fours in his knock.
It ended a 67-run stand which he dominated with Tagenarine Chanderpaul, who was finally out for 69, having batted for 288 minutes. Chanderpaul hit eight fours and a six off 205 balls before he skied a catch off Chase to Kevin Stoute at mid-on.
The fifth wicket to go down was Vishaul Singh, who was caught at slip by Jonathan Carter off Chase for 15.
